On Wednesday, March 16, our third grade students and teachers welcomed nine of our local St. Francis University football players into the classrooms. This event was organized with the help of Offensive Coordinator, Coach Eric Long. Our St. Francis University players first read a children’s book, then transitioned to a Q and A session, spending some time talking to our youngsters about what it takes to be a leader on and off the field, study habits, work ethic and of course how to go about balancing playing a sport/extracurricular activity, with keeping your academic grades up! All students left school this day feeling inspired by each and every one of these athletes’ stories! They were encouraged to work hard towards their goals and never give up on their dreams! We ended the morning with a short autograph session!
