Breakfast with Santa!

“Breakfast with Santa”

Jackson Elementary School held its annual “PTO Breakfast with Santa” on December 19th and 20th. We had around 500 students, parents, families, and Interact club members from the high school participate in the activities. We want to thank the Interact club members and the PTO members for making this event successful.  The elementary students loved it!

Dickens of a Christmas!

For “Dickens of a Christmas” this year, Ms. Deb Ley from First Student Transportation and Mrs. Becky Klezek, our transportation coordinator, were given12 trees from Fleming’s Christmas Tree Farm in Indiana. They asked each grade level (K-5) from Jackson Elementary and Cambria Elementary Schools to create a theme and decorate one tree. Everyone who visited the “Dickens of a Christmas” event had the opportunity to pick their favorite tree for a $1.00 donation. The second grade from Cambria Elementary School received the most votes. They made a Santa themed tree as seen in the picture. They will be having a pizza party to celebrate. This event raised $424.83 and all proceeds will go towards the Ebensburg Regional Inclusive Playground. Ms. Ley and Mrs. Klezek will be purchasing the pizza for the children. A special thank you to them, Fleming’s Christmas Tree Farm, and to everyone who participated! Great job!

Early Thanksgiving Day Surprise for Jackson Elementary Student

Students were called down to the gym to surprise first grader Audrey Gokey with a special Thanksgiving day surprise. Mike Gokey returned from being deployed for the last four months. Audrey had no idea that her dad would be surprising her at school. Students gather in the gym waiting for a special speaker, which was Mike. He and Audrey’s mom, grandmother and sister were all hiding in the storage closed waiting for the signal to come out.
