Opportunities From Lessons Learned

On Thursday October 16th, the high school’s law class was fortunate enough to have one of its’ own come back and provide some insight for those students thinking of possibly pursuing a career in law. Mr. Paul Jubas, a Central Cambria and Duquesne University School of Law graduate, spoke to the class about the realities of a career in the field of law and detailed the vigorous responsibilities and schedule associated with this career choice and why he ultimately chose to use his background in law in another capacity. Mr. Jubas left his job with Darren K Parr Law Firm in Pittsburgh to engage in a start-up software company in the “games of chance” business. This joint venture, Myers Integrated Systems, is only in its second year of operation but has definitely made some key power moves in the past six months, securing networks to branch out to four or five other states besides Pennsylvania in the next year. Mr. Jubas runs the business side of the enterprise with an official title of VP of Sales and Legal.

Mr. Jubas was an absolute pleasure to have come in and talk to the students. He was very truthful and realistic with the class in regards to what they should expect, should they choose to go down this avenue in the near future. His presentation led to an exceptional in-class discussion directly afterwards in which our students’ reactions varied from sheer terror (comments on Bar Examination) to downright jubilance when they realized how successful (monetarily) one can become by finding a niche in various types ventures.
