As you walked down the fourth grade hallway, you should have noticed the students working on
building flashlights and houses. For the past nine weeks, we have been learning about electric circuits.
First the students had to get the bulb to light, using only a bulb wire and battery. Next, we discussed
insulators and conductors using a circuit tester. Insulators will stop the flow of electricity. Conductors
will allow the electricity to flow and light the bulb. We then added a switch to our circuits to allow the circuit to be opened and closed. Lastly, we used all of these components to construct our flashlights and rooms as you can see behind the students in the pictures.
