Healthy Hands at CES

The Kindergarten classrooms at CES were presented “Healthy Hands” this week. Healthy Hands is an educational opportunity to demonstrate the importance of proper hand washing techniques. The main points that were highlighted and then demonstrated were the “T Zone”, spread of germs, and appropriate way to cover your cough and sneeze to include proper hand washing technique. Utilizing glow germ lotion and a black light, Mrs. Bender, MSN, RN demonstrated the spread of germs by shaking hands and high fiving students. She then also utilized the marker board, eraser and touched various items within the classrooms. Students were asked various questions about germs, to assess their knowledge base. At the conclusion of the event students all properly returned demonstration of proper hand washing technique and verbalized understanding of the instruction.
