After some years, Central Cambria
fielded a small team in the Cambria County Conservation District Envirothon
Competition on Thursday, May 1st
at Disaster’s Edge between St. Michael and
Sidman. At one point enough students were interested for CC to field three teams
of 3-5 students each, but the date of the competition conflicted with the annual
Vo-Tech field trip. Representing Central Cambria High School were Aaron Kinnan,
Shane Torchia, and Bruce Wess. Bruce remarked that he really enjoyed learning
more about nature through the hands on activities and testing at each outside
station. The team was led by Mrs. Donna Ridgeley, who is looking forward to
increased participation next year!
