Mr. Bruce Haselrig from Johnstown, PA visited Cambria Elementary School on Friday, February 22, 2013 to help educate students and faculty about diversity. The title of Bruce's presentation was A Unique Look at Diversity in Your School Community. Bruce asked the students to stand and tell others why their names were unique and special. Hobbs stood before the group and told everyone that his name was chosen by his parents from an old cartoon character. Several other students shared why their names were special too. All students in grades K-5 participated in several additional activities presented by Mr. Haselrig. Bruce plans to return to Cambria Elementary in the future weeks to work closely with students during their class guidance lessons. He will be partnering with our school Guidance Counselor, Kate Wolf, to enhance our students' understanding and appreciation of diversity within our school setting. We would like to thank our PTO for providing funding for this program.
