10/26/13 It was a great day for
the Central Cambria boys and girls cross teams! The girls started things out by
winning their 9th consecutive District VI Championship, led by a
one-two punch of Samantha Koss and Emma Wess, placing 2nd and 3rd
respectively. By placing all seven runners in the top 17, Sydney Gilkey 6th,
Jordan Hayward 12th, Jackie Bracken 15th, Kaitlyn McKeel
16th and Hannah Swope 17th, the Lady Red Devils
outdistanced their nearest rival by 48 points. The boys win, the first in 3
years, was in dominant fashion by placing 4 runner in the top 11 places.
Leading the way was Javaunte Neumann in 3rd, followed by Justin
Jeffers in 4th, Logan Brandis in 8th and Bryce Descavish
in 11th. Rounding out the top 7 were Mike Walwro in 21st,
Max Murin in 24th, and David Barnes in 31st. The boys
nearest competitor was 58 points behind the high flying Red Devils.
