CE Sing-A-Long

Mr. Duman, Mrs. Davis and Mr. Nicoloff lead us in a Christmas sing-a-long this morning. The students had a great time and Mr. Duman even performed a solo from the movie, “The Polar Express”. We hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season.

CE 4th Grade Tradition

As part of our Fourth Grade tradition, the students all get the opportunity to construct their own sugar coated Christmas tree! The students also make a reindeer ornaments for their parents that are made with their own finger prints.

The students at Jackson Elementary enjoyed a  Christmas sing-a-long led by Dr. Melissa Douglass.

CE Visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus

Santa and Mrs. Claus visited Cambria Elementary today. The children were so excited! They shook his hand, got a cup of cocoa and a cookie. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

R.O.C.K. Program Visits Mr. Wagner's Chemistry Class

On December 16, 2015, students from the St. Francis “R.O.C.K.” program came to work with and present their program to Mr. Wagner’s Chemistry classes.  “R.O.C.K.” stands for Rural Outreach Chemistry for Kids and is an excellent program to get high school students interested in science oriented college programs and careers.  The St. Francis students performed demonstrations and hands on activities with the students involving liquid nitrogen and the gas laws.  The students absolutely loved the program and took a real interest in the hands on chemistry that was being presented.  Towards the end of the presentation, Mr. Wagner’s students got to indulge in a tasty treat as they were able to make ice cream with the liquid nitrogen.  Mr. Wagner and his students would also like to thank Mrs. McDermott and Mr. Paronish for allowing the St. Francis students to come in and present the R.O.C.K. Program.

JES Breakfast with Santa

The students at Jackson Elementary had the pleasure of having breakfast with Santa along with bringing their families to enjoy in the fun.  The students also got to talk to Santa and tell him what they wanted for Christmas this year.  We would like to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Jackson Elementary Winter Concert

On December 16th, 2015, the Jackson Elementary band and choral groups performed their annual Winter concert at the Central Cambria High School. The concert started with the playing of the National Anthem by Destiney Wissinger on flute. The band performed songs such as Jing-a-Ling Bells, Santa's in the House and When Santa's Away, the Elves Will Play. The concert also featured soloists, Destiney Wissinger, Jillian Grata, Abigail Swartz and Rylee Baxter. The 4th and 5th grade chorus performed last, accompanied by Mr. Paul Seymour on piano.

The performance was amazing and demonstrated the hard work and practice they have put in. The students even had a surprise visit from Santa Claus on stage.

We would like to thank the Jackson PTO, teachers, staff, family and students for the hard work that it took to make this event successful.

CES Holiday Concert

Last night was Cambria Elementary School's annual holiday concert which featured the 5th grade band and the 4th and 5th grade chorus. The first half of the concert featured the band. The 5th grade band played three fun group numbers with individual sections playing in between. One song, "Merry Christmas to All" featured a new instrument group performed by the percussion students. They are known as the “Little Devil Chimers” and they play the hand tone chimes. Emma Pablic was a featured soloist on “God Rest Ye Merry Trumpet Players.” It was an exciting night of elementary instrumental music and they played extremely well!

The second half of the concert featured the 4th and 5th grade chorus. The chorus sang six pieces of music that had varying messages, styles, and even, in the case of one piece, languages. The first number “Shoulda Been a North Pole Elf” even featured three tap dancers. They sang and boogied their hearts out, especially in the last number, “Blitzen's Boogie”

We are very proud of these students for their hard work and so grateful to have the opportunity to work with them. They are incredibly talented and can do anything that they set their minds to. Happy Holidays!
