JES Tech Team Instructional Video

CE Self-defense Training with Office Stohon
Central Cambria School District Resource Officer Nate Stohon led training in self-defense here at CES last week. Students practiced escaping the grasp of his/her wrist, collar, and jacket during physical education classes. The students were reminded to yell for help, lower their body weight, and run when in a threatening situation. Homework was assigned by Officer Stohon: know your address and phone number.

JE 100th Day of School
Our 1st grade students celebrated their 100th day of school, by dressing up like they were 100 years old. Our Kindergarten students enjoyed making hats with a picture of them revealing what they will look like when they are 100 years old.

JE Junior Chorus
The Jackson Elementary Junior chorus started rehearsing on January 27th. The junior chorus consists of 3rd grade students. They will be learning a variety of music including multicultural, folk, and popular music. Some of the junior chorus members are pictured.

100th Day at CES
At CES today the students dressed up as if they were a hundred years old to celebrate the 100th day of school. Many of the students and teachers participated in activities based on the number 100. It was a fun day of learning!
CES Title 1 Teachers
Mrs. Forcellini and Mrs. Semelsberger, hosted a Kindergarten and First Grade Parent Literacy night on Monday, Feb. 1st at Cambria Elementary. The Reading Teachers demonstrated different strategies to use at home while reading with their children. School Assessments were modeled and explained during this time, as well. All parents who attended received a bag of reading tools to take home.

Challenge Program Rewards Students for Success
The Challenge Program Orientation/Fall Awards Assembly was
held on Friday, January 29 in the CCHS Auditorium. Sara Deyarmin of the Challenge Program and
Dorothy Bailey of S & T Bank hosted the event. S & T Bank has sponsored Central Cambria
High School for the past several years and thus provides the funding for the
Challenge Program Awards for our students. The mission of the Challenge Program
is to build sustainable Business/Education partnerships while introducing
careers to high school students. TCP
motivates students to develop solid work habits required to succeed in school
and their future careers.
Following a skit which depicted the awards categories and
starred eight of our musical theatre students, the awards were presented to
those students who met the Challenge Program criteria during the 2014/15 school
term. The winners were:
